Interfaith – Gathering of local churches to provide support to those less fortunate in the local community

Nursing Home Ministry –   Approximately every 5th Sunday afternoon a ministry team from AWC brings "Sunday Church" to Avon Nursing Home residents. It is a pleasure to see each one as we meet and worship together. Their voices may not be as strong as they once were but as they sing along, or sometimes just listen, the memory of a verse or chorus of a hymn brings comfort and encouragement.  The devotionals we bring convey the love of Jesus and the hope of His salvation.  As you look into each face you realize that you have the opportunity to touch the lives of those who have lived many years, some almost a century, and help stir memories of their past lives that can easily slip away.   As you talk with them, and hear the events of their life’s journey, many times it leads to the privilege of praying for a physical need, family situation and sometimes helping them find a relationship with Christ!
